Little Details Add Up

When you think of curb appeal, you probably think of flowers and a clean-cut lawn. Those are big components that certainly make a difference, but there are lots of little details that add up to make your home’s exterior look amazing!

Let’s go over some home features that are easily missed and easily fixed:

Your front door, window shutters, mailbox, and house numbers can really pop with a fresh coat of paint. If they’re not in good condition though, it’s probably time to invest in replacements. If you enjoy DIY projects, this is a great opportunity to show off your creativity!

Research the latest trends in hardware design, and consider replacing your front door hardware to give the entry a modern, clean look. This goes a long way for when you do put your home on the market. Homebuyers will feel more welcomed when they see a new door handle, deadbolt, knocker, and/or doorbell! A few easy additions to your home’s exterior include a wreath on the front door, garden statues or decorations, and flat stones creating a path to your backyard.

Adding lighting to your home’s exterior is super easy and well worth it. You can find LED fixtures that run off solar power, so you don’t have to spend time or money setting up wires. String lights look beautiful around your deck or porch, post lights can illuminate natural areas, and a couple of security lights are a great way to make yourself and potential buyers feel safe.

Lastly, grime and mold can easily build up on sidewalks and the siding of your home. You can rent, borrow, or buy a pressure washer to quickly remove dirt and algae from siding, walkways, driveways, and even patios so they look brand new!

With these simple changes to your home’s exterior, your curb appeal will be off the charts!
